Ericsson proves to have been very successful lately and has managed to close a series of profitable contracts with other companies. We are actually talking about three different contracts with operators from distinct countries.

Ericsson has recently closed a deal with China Unicom in order to upgrade its GSM network across six provinces. Moreover, they will also bring more evolved data services which will surely translate into high profits on this market. Several major cities are part of the area that Ericsson will cover, summing up 4 million people. Through the Mobile Softswitch Solution, customers will benefit from increased capacity and greater access to data services.

Another contract which has high chances of being fruitful for Ericsson is the one they have closed with the Indian operator Spice Telecom. As a result, they will provide push e-mail and personal information management services. This service has the advantage of being easy to use and is also capable of providing real-time access to a wide range of information. Additionally, Ericsson will be the main provider for hosting, system integration and every day management of the service.

The third contract that Ericsson has signed lately has been with Orascom Telecom Holdings in Bangladesh. This means that they will supply, install and commission network radio equipment in the capital city Dhaka and surrounding areas. Advanced 2G functionalities, such as GPRS will be provided for all customers at a highly reliable level. More than 20 million mobile subscribers will have to benefit from Ericsson's services.

All these contracts which Ericsson has managed to sign represent a major expansion. The fact that it involves three new unexplored markets in high need of efficient telecommunications services makes this step forward look like an even bigger one to have been made by Ericsson.
