Ericsson lands one more contract

One more deal was landed by Ericsson with a leading telecom operator that will surely turn into big profits in no time. This time, the company will supply a sual 2G/3G network modernization program for Administraci?n Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (ANTEL).

With every newly signed contract, Ericsson moves one more step forward to on the market. It currently works with operators from more than 140 countries at a world scale to introduce the most evolved solutions for great network development. Many of its partners are from less evolved countries that are currently working of finding the best ways to build a competitive telecom network and properly maintain it. It has a long time history in this, which recommends Ericsson as the right one to do the job even more.

Antel will benefit from Ericsson's experience in such matters, a baggage of knowledge that the Uruguayan company does not have. "The decision to invest with Ericsson confirms our intent to offer best-in-class services to our customers. This turnkey agreement is significant in that it allows ANTEL to focus on our customers' needs while Ericsson concentrates on upgrading and evolving our core switching infrastructure", said Jos? Luis Sald?as, CEO of ANTEL.

It's a great deal for Ericsson too, as it continues a long time partnership that has proved to be quite fruitful up to this point. "We are delighted to further consolidate our long-standing partnership with ANTEL to transform and expand its network infrastructure by offering a proven migration of telephony services", commented Luis L?pez, President of Ericsson Uruguay.

The two companies share a long history together. Starting with 1984, they worked on a large number of projects that turned out successful enough to lead to the evolution of even more similar ones. This includes the launch of its mobile services in 1994 and its evolution to GSM in 2003.
