The small office / home office (SOHO) segment has become quite important for the manufacturers of various office-related electronic products, most of the big names in the industry providing quite comprehensive product lineups targeting exactly this particular class of users. And that's also the case with Epson, which has just announced the development of an entire family of printing and scanning solutions, dubbed (quite straightforward) Workforce.

This new line of products includes two all-in-one devices (the 600 and 500 models), as well as two normal laser printers, the 40 and 30 models. Each of them offers high printing speeds and all sorts of additional features, which we'll detail as follows.

Thus, Epson's WorkForce 600 is the flagship model of the new series, providing laser-quality black text up to 27 ppm and laser-quality color text up to 19 ppm in default, normal printing mode. Additionally, the printer offers built-in Wi-Fi and wired networking, a 2.5-inch tilt LCD screen and a built-in 30-page automatic document feeder (ADF) to quickly copy and scan, as well as fax black and color documents in around three seconds per page.

Next in line are the WorkForce 40 and WorkForce 30 models, which are designed especially for high-volume printing. Both offer laser-quality black text at up to 27 ppm in default mode, while the WorkForce 40 also produces laser-quality color text at up to 19 ppm in default mode and offers built-in Wi-Fi and wired networking. On the other hand, the WorkForce 30 achieves a maximum color printing speed of around 11 ppm in default mode and includes a dual black ink cartridge system that delivers twice as much black printing.

Last in Epson's new line is the WorkForce 500 all-in-one, a peripheral designed for normal printing, copying, scanning, and faxing, as well as versatile photo printing. This model offers a built-in 30-page ADF, fast faxing speeds at up to three seconds per page, and prints up to 33 ppm black and color. Additionally, the WorkForce 500 offers a 2.5-inch tilt LCD screen to view and edit images, built-in memory card slots and PictBridge support to easily transfer files and print images with or without a computer.

The Epson WorkForce 30, WorkForce 500 and WorkForce 600 will arrive later on this month for around 70, 130 and 200 US dollars respectively, while the WorkForce 40 will be available in September for around 130 US dollars.
