Epson's launched quite a large number of projectors targeting the educational environment in January 2011 (especially around CES 2011 time), but the company's now back with yet two more offerings of this type, namely the PowerLite 905 and 915W models. As Epson informs us, both devices come equipped with a 16-watt speaker and microphone input, as well as numerous connectivity and networking options, including here RJ-45 (Ethernet) and HDMI interfaces.

The new PowerLite projectors also sport 3LCD, 3-chip technology, as well as Epson's exclusive E-TORL lamp technology, capable of supplying up to 6,000 hours of life in economy mode.

Other important common features worth mentioning include the built-in closed captioning decoder, the 1.6x optical zoom, plus +30 degree automatic vertical keystone correction and the new +30 degree horizontal keystone correction, as well as the support for a virtual remote feature and a couple of Teaching Aids educators will certainly find useful.

Now, as expected, there are also a couple of differences between the two new projector models released by Epson, the PowerLite 905 delivering 3000 lumens of color and white light output at an XGA resolution, while the PowerLite 915W sports 3200 lumens color and white light output with WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution.

"The PowerLite 905 and 915W projectors were designed to provide educators with a full-featured classroom solution, delivering ultra-bright images and top quality audio and video to enhance students' learning experiences," said Sara Kim, product manager, Epson America.

"Built to accommodate future technology and connectivity enhancements, the PowerLite 905 and 915W are cost-effective, high performance projectors that will continue to provide value for educators as classroom content evolves," Epson's rep added.

The Epson PowerLite 905 and 915W will be available in March 2011 via the company's usual retail channels and will sell for around US$999 and US$1,099, respectively.
