When it comes to entertainment, there are a lot of things to choose from these days, but when it comes to big screen movies or still picture presentations there are only a few solution available. One of them is to go out and buy a huge plasma or LCD panel TV that is quite expensive or use a computer monitor, even if computer displays do not go as far as those screens.

Another solution would be to use a video projector, but as the previous generations had a low native resolution, this was not the proffered approach. Now, Epson strives to change the public and customers' perception about home video projectors as it announced the launch in Europe of the first 1080p projector intended for use as a home movie projector. The new Epson projector is named PowerLite Home Cinema 1080 (codenamed HC1080) and it really uses high native resolutions up to 1920?1080 pixels because of the three LCD chips integrated into the projector. Similarly priced video solutions use only a single chip and they can not display true HD images.

The PowerLite Home Cinema 1080 uses as the core technology the powerful C?Fine 3LCD that is able to reproduce just about every color and scene with a maximum fidelity. Thanks to a special lamp that provides bright light, while using a low power feed and the high quality OptiCinema lens, the new Epson video projector is able to deliver a very high level of detail using life-like colors. Other special technologies used are the AbsoluteBlack, which gives a contrast ration of 12000:1 and ensures a deep black color, while the 1080Perfect processing filters offer full HD 1080p performance with 24fps and HDMI 1.3 compatibility. The Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 1080 HC1080 will cost about 2850 Euro and it will be available in online stores and Epson retail channel dealers across Europe.
