Or at least a very serious contender to the title

It seems that pocket projectors will be quite a hot thing in the near future (probably next year), since a fairly large number of companies (some of them more well-established, other, more low-profile) have begun launching such products, which they advertise as being the "world's smallest" of their kind. And that's also the case with Epoq's EPP-HH01, a pico projector that will surely take a shot at the aforementioned title.

That's because this device measures just around 39.6 x 56.7 x 57.5 (mm), which is almost the same size as a small paperback book, for example. The weight has not been disclosed, but the projector is most likely pretty lightweight as well (most such devices are).

Its optical specs are not particularly impressive, but, then again, we kind of expected that from such a tiny device. Thus, the EPP-HH01 has a light output of roughly 7 ANSI lumens (LED-based 3W Cree X-Lamp XR-E lamp), a contrast ratio of 80:1, as well as a uniformity level of around 30% and a color gamut of 30% also. Furthermore, it can attain a maximum resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, it has a 4:3 native aspect ratio and it supports a color temperature range between 5,000 and 10,000 K.

Additionally, the device also sports a built-in 2D-line adaptive digital comb filter and supports both NTSC and PAL video systems. Its connectivity options are not particularly fantastic, since we're dealing with just composite video/audio input. However, even if it's so tiny, the projector does sports a built-in speaker, capable of a 0.5 W output (albeit mono audio).

The device will arrive later on in November at GadgetCraver and will sell for around 300 US dollars, which is not a particularly high price point, but it's not very cheap, either.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
