Hothead Games is announcing that Episode 2 of Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness is now code complete and is set to be released for the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360, the PC, the Mac and machines running Linux. The second episode of the Penny Arcade themed adventures will cost 14.95 dollars, which is 1,200 Microsoft Points if you plan on getting the game via digital download from the Xbox Live Arcade service. It's nice to see that this second episode is five dollars cheaper than the previous one. Should we expect the next one to be just ten dollars?

The second episode in the series will aim to provide players with more options regarding the adventuring parts and the role playing elements. The developers are also trying to address complaints by the players by adding more locations for the player to visit through the game, one of which will be the all new Cloying Odors Sanitarium. Expect more interesting enemies which you will have to fight, including mental patients. It's a good thing then that the combat sections have also been significantly improved, with better timing for blocking moves.

Vlad Ceraldi, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Hothead, declared that “Episode One was a huge investment for us and established a great base from which we built Episode Two. It allows us to focus even more on the fans in developing future games in the series. Our new game has a lot of great enhancements that were made possible by direct fan interaction and we are extremely excited to get our game into their hands and get their feedback”.

Hothead have not unveiled a release date yet, probably because they have a lot of trouble finding a good spot to launch their adventure title as so many AAA titles are getting ready to debut somewhere in late October. I'd guess that the game will be available sometime around October 15.
