The competition is open to all professional and amateur photographers around the world

The Atkins CIWEM Environmental Photographer of the Year competition now accepts your photo submissions until March 31, 2014.

The competition is open to all professional and amateur photographers of all ages from around the world and honors the very best environmental and social issues photographs in an attempt to signal the consequences of the constant climate change and social inequality.

This year's winner will be awarded a ₤5,000 / $8,200 / €6,000 prize and the Atkins CIWEM Environmental Photographer of the Year title. Besides this, three ₤1,000 / $1,600 / €1,200 prizes will also be handed out for the best Young Environmental Photographer of the Year (Under 18), Environmental Film of the Year, and the Atkins Cityscape Prize.

In addition to that, one photographer will have the occasion to exhibit his work at one of England's public forests as part of the Forestry Commission England Exhibition Award.
