An entomologist in Florida has been faced with the biggest wasp nest he has ever seen in his life. Jonathan Simkins has videotaped the encounter and it looks absolutely terrifying.

According to WFLA, he found more than 1 million insects in the Central Florida hive. The nest is taller than him, towering over him at six-and-a-half-feet (1.98 meters) tall and 8-foot (2.4-meter) wide.

He is wearing protective gear as he approaches the insects but specifies that a person wandering near the nest and setting off an attack could be killed by the wasps.

He confesses that, although wearing a special suit and helmet and carrying spray to terminate the insects, he has also been scared throughout the procedure.

"To put it into perspective, a nest we deal with on a day to day basis might have a thousand to five thousand [bees]," Simkins describes.
