Those who find themselves suffocated in the concrete jungle that today’s big cities have become will certainly appreciate the great images included in the German Landscapes theme.
“A rustic cabin under a rich carpet of stars, a weathered bridge over a country stream, delicate pink tendrils of cloud in a twilight sky, and fields of golden wheat in the afternoon sun: The best of Germany's natural beauty is featured in this free theme for Windows 7,” Microsoft describes this theme.
Images included in this theme come from photographers Marco Stolle, Jens Zschekel, Andreas Bobanac, Heiko Gerlicher, and Karl Herrling, who won a German photography contest organized by Microsoft’s Christian Kirchesch in Munich.
Runners-up Axel Hahn, Deryk Baumgärtner, Ive Völker, Jörg Franzen, Lutz Jänichen, Marco Müller, Markus Janse and Uschi Wolters also have their images included in this theme.
However, this is not the only free pack of high-resolution photos of Germany’s landscapes that users can download on their Windows 7 computers. A second one, Germany: Mountains to Sea theme, offers similar beauties to admire.
“The rural beauty of Germany comes through every image shot by photographer Mathias Rehberg. Revel in the shorelines, fields, and mountain refuges he captured in his lens for this free Windows 7 theme,” Microsoft notes.
Dubbed Impressions from Schleswig-Holstein, the third theme brings straight to your Windows 7’s the moods and seasons of Germany's northernmost state, courtesy of high-resolution photos by Mathias Kentrup.
“Hazy romantic summer skies, golden light on winter branches, and the region's beaches and waterways are captured with hypnotically rich colors and delicate textures,” Microsoft says.
Not only are these themes free to download on PCs running under Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions, but they can be installed on computers running under Windows 8 Developer Preview as well.
