Enermax is still celebrating 20 years of age and is happily refreshing its various product lines with new models that aim to cater to the needs of users for components of high quality, high performance and worthy durability. The models in the Modu82+, Pro82+ and LibertyECO power-supply lines are a set of such products that are now getting upgrades in order to keep up with the advancements in graphics and processing power.

Enermax Technology Corporation has been capable of delivering top-tier power supplies, fans, cases and peripherals over the past 20 years thanks to the fact that it has its own research and development center. As such, the company has been able to develop certain, now patented, technologies that supplement the high power and efficiency of its products, in this case PSUs, with “several new and attractive features.” Such features include the HeatGuard, CordGuard and Extented CPU 12V Power Cable. Not only that, but the new PSU models are even DXXI ready.

The new PSUs have a number of traits that make them superior to their predecessors. One is the presence of 6+2-pin (8-pin) PCIe power connectors, as opposed to the previous version that only had 6-pin cables. It is this fact that makes them DXXI ready, meaning that they have the ability to support system upgrades to high-performance DirectX 11 cards that require 8-pin connectors. All Enermax PSUs of 400W and more now have at least two such power connectors.

The HeatGuard is a cooling function that was first featured in the high-end Revolution85+ series. This function kept the PSU fan running for 30 to 60 seconds after computer shutdown, in order to dissipate the left-over heat, thus prolonging the system lifespan. Furthermore, the CordGuard clip is meant to keep the power cord firmly in place, thus avoiding the accidental disconnection of the power cable.

Finally, the new power supplies will now feature the Extented CPU 12V Power Cable. This feature is aimed at making the power supplies compatible with cases where the PSU is mounted at the bottom. Normally, such a design increases the distance between the PSU and the CPU socket, causing the 12V power cable to stretch. To avoid such complications, the new power supplies from Enermax will now boast 60cm CPU 12V cables.

To celebrate its anniversary, Enermax will be bundling its PSUs with a free 120mm Twister case fan for a period of time. Among the models that are being upgraded are the 425W, 525W, 625W PRO82+ II, the 500W, 600W LibertyECO II, as well as the 625W MODU82+ II.
