New technologies always rely on power and, even as their efficiency increases, so does the efficiency of the units responsible with empowering them. An efficient CPU and motherboard are meaningless if the PSU bleeds power unchecked, and companies have been developing models whose efficiency has steadily risen above the 82% threshold. Enermax is in the midst of celebrating its 20-year anniversary and plans to hold a campaign throughout 2010. As part of this project, the company has already extended the warranty of Revolution85+ power supplies from three to five years. In a similar turn of events, the Galaxy Evo PSUs are now also going to feature the same period of warranty.

"This warranty upgrade is part of our ongoing 20-year anniversary campaign throughout 2010 to celebrate our achievements during this period and to give back to our valued customers a part of the trust and appreciation, they have shown to us in these 20 years," Steven Su, founder & president of Enermax, said.

"When we started 20 years ago, we had yet to establish ourselves in the industry by the innovative energy we stand for today. Our two flagship PSU series' exemplify our spirit and thus we wanted to match their warranty with what they stand for."

What consumers may find most convenient is the fact that this change applies to not only new Galaxy Evo units, but also to those that have already been sold. The Galaxy Evo power supplies have an efficiency ranging between 82% and 89% and support a very large variety of CPU, GPU and drive configurations.

They use ultra-quiet 13.5 cm fans with intelligent RPM control and are the world's first EPS12V PSUs with a 99% 12V output capability. The supplies even shield the PC against radiation interferences through full-scale electromagnetic filtering.
