Android Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich may be monopolizing the mobile OS news, for the most part at least, but this hasn't stopped Energy Systems from still experimenting with the somewhat older, but not yet dead, Gingerbread.

Gingerbread is also known as Android 2.3 and is the operating system that Spanish company Energy Systems chose for its latest products.

The company didn't leave it in its base form, though, instead choosing to give it a different UI (user interface) that resembles Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) more.

That said, three tablets were made, dubbed i724 Dark Iron, i824 Dark Iron and i828 Black HD.

In that order, they measure 7 inches, 8 inches and, again, 8 inches, respectively, and have prices of 159 Euro, 199 Euro and 229 Euro.

Nothing was said of US prices, and exchange rates aren't what prospective buyers should use as a guide but, according to them, those sums are the same as $218, $273 and $314, respectively.

November 14 is when sales start in Europe, so people have a while to decide if the feature sets are to their liking.

The Energy Tablet i724 Dark Iron (800 x 480 pixels display) has 4 GB of storage and capacitive touch.

Secondly, the Energy Tablet i824 Dark Iron has multitouch (800 x 600 pixels) and just as much storage space as above.

Thirdly, the i828 Black HD has multitouch (1,024 x 768 pixels) and 8 GB of flash storage.

All the newcomers rely on an ARM Cortex-A8 processor and have 512 MB of DDR3 memory, plus microSD card slots (enable up to 32 GB of extra flash storage capacity), WiFi, USB, HDMI and 4,000 mAh batteries that can last for up to 7 hours of Internet browsing (3 hours of music playback).

All available information is neatly detailed on the official website (find it here).
