SEGA, as the publisher, has announced that it will be combining its most recent two Total War launches, Empire and Napoleon, into a new Gold package that is set to be launched on October 19 for the price of 50 dollars.

The new edition of the two games is designed to deliver the complete experience to strategy gamers who like the mix between the turn based overland map and the real time tactical battles.

Those who pick up the Gold pack will get all the downloadable content that SEGA and The Creative Assembly, as developers, have launched.

Empire will get: Elite Units of the East, Elite Units of the West, Elite Units of America and the Warpath Campaign that introduces more depth to the battles in North America.

Napoleon Total War will get: the Coalition Battle Pack, the Elite Regiment for Napoleon and The Peninsular Campaign, which limits the battlefield to Spain and introduces a more focused experience with three sides battling out for supremacy.

For both Empire and Napoleon: Total War SEGA and The Creative Assembly have faced criticism from long time fans of the series for the lack of coherent moves on the part of the Artificial Intelligence and for what some consider unnecessary features that only bloat the games.

Patches and DLC made the two titles much more enjoyable, mainly focusing on creating better reaction from the A.I.

At the moment the two companies are working on a new video game in the series, Shogun 2, which is set to return the franchise to its roots in the medieval period of Japan's history.

The launch date is set for 2011 and The Creative Aseembly is getting ready to show the game in action for the first time.

The developers are saying that they will focus on a streamlined battle system but some are worried about the inclusion of legendary units and other non historical elements.
