The airmotiv 4 promises to deliver exceptional sound with lower distortions

If a new pair of speakers is what you are looking for, Emotiva just made your decision a lot tougher, as the outfit recently introduced the airmotiv 4 which is definitely worthy of more than just a quick glimpse.

What makes these speakers so special, you ask?

Well, although this pretty much looks like your ordinary speaker, when taking a closer look one will notice that it’s actually missing that dome tweeter that is so commonplace among its peers.

Emotiva decided to replace this with a Heil air motion transformer, which, instead of pushing air to make sound, “squeezes” air by using its pleated diaphragm.

According to Cnet, this requires less movement, thus producing lower distortion than most dome tweeters.

Pair that with a 4.5-inch woofer, two 25 watt amplifiers, RCA as well as XLR inputs, and you pretty much know the airmotiv 4 is worthy of your attention.

The best part however is that these are priced at $399 (302 EUR) each, which doesn’t seem all that much considering the powerful specs.
