Seth Meyers was the official host of the Emmy Awards 2014, held last night at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. His performance was met with mixed reviews, with some dubbing him the most boring host ever in the history of the gala and others praising him for trying to keep things fresh.

Whether you liked it or not, you should know he probably did his best. If it’s any consolation, he also did his part for charity at the end of the show, even if that wasn’t included in the telecast: yes, Meyers too took part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

The Challenge has been started as a way to raise awareness and money for the ALS Association, in the hope of finding a cure for ALS. It’s been making huge waves online, with countless celebrities dousing themselves in ice cold water and donating money for the cause.

The idea is that, if you want to do the Challenge, you have to be nominated by one of your friends. Meyers too was, and he chose the Emmys to carry it out, waiting until the end of the show to have someone pour an entire bucket of cold water on his head.

He made sure he removed his coat first, though.

The comedian posted the video on his Instagram, with the caption, “You didn’t think we’d end the #Emmys without Seth doing the #alsicebucketchallenge, did you?”

Well, excuse us if we did.
