Former hosts Jimmy Kimmel, Jane Lynch, Jimmy Fallon, Conan O’Brien crash the party

Neil Patrick Harris was the host of the Emmys 2013, held last night live from the Nokia Theater LA Live in Los Angeles, and airing on CBS. Above is his opening monolog, which, even if you’re not a fan of the awards show, I’d suggest not missing.

Neil kicked it off by speaking of the new golden age of television and how technology is making it possible for everyone in the industry to reach a much wider audience than before.

Minutes within the monolog, he was cut short by Jimmy Kimmel, just the first of the many hosts of previous years come to crash the party.

He was followed by Jane Lynch, Jimmy Fallon, and Conan O’Brien, all of whom had tips and advice for Neil on how to host the gala.

But Kevin Spacey was what he called “the cherry on the proverbial Sundae,” with a special mention going to Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, who kept urging NPH to “drop the pants because America wants to see what you’re working with” and to “werk that twerk!”

Do enjoy!
