The Ryan Seacrest Center for Excessive Hosting Disease is the place to seek help

The entire cast of “How I Met Your Mother” came together to show their support for their fellow actor and frequently used awards show host Neil Patrick Harris, who hosted last night’s 2013 Emmy Awards.

Above is their intervention for his condition, EHD, also known as Excessive Hosting Disorder.

EHD manifests as the irresistible urge of hosting everything, all the time and, in Harris’ case, it’s gotten so bad that he even hosts himself when he thinks there’s no one to barge in on him.

He might not have known it until now, but there is help for his EDH, at the Ryan Seacrest Center for Excessive Hosting Disease, where Arsenio Hall has also been admitted more or less against his will.

The skit, aired during the Emmys, came with a disclaimer that read, in part:

“Incoming patients will submit to a full body cavity search for any hidden mic packs, lavs, wireless headsets, canes, envelopes, sequins and Bruce Vilanches. Please plan on arriving at least three hours before your therapy call time because the limo line is murder.

Arsenio Hall is not affiliated with the Ryan Seacrest Center for Excessive Hosting. Oh, and neither is Ryan Seacrest. If you’re still reading this and believe EHD is a real affliction, you might be suffering from APB or Acute Parody Blindness. If so, contact the Mel Brooks Center for Humor in Catskills, New York.
