Fans of Hermione will get to see Emma Watson attempt to ditch that wholesome image in Sofia Coppola’s upcoming film “The Bling Ring.” The cover of the latest issue of GQ offers an indication as to just how different a role she’s undertaken in it.

Check out the image attached to this article to see the artwork for the magazine: Emma is posing as Nikki, her character in the film, looking incredibly sassy, toned and defiant.

She’s showing off her tattoos, her toned little figure and her Pretty Woman-inspired style in what is Emma’s most visually daring photo to date.

Speaking to the magazine about playing the “amoral” Nikki in the film, which is inspired by true events (the Bling Ring or The Hollywood Hills Burglar Bunch were arrested in 2009 after a series of break-ins at celebrities’ homes, including Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan), Watson says she welcomed the challenge.

“When I read the script and I realized that essentially it was a meditation on fame and what it’s become to our society, I had to do it,” she says.

“The character is everything that I felt strongly against — she’s superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral. She’s all of these things and I realized that I hated her. How do you play someone you hate? But I found it really interesting and it gave me a whole new insight into what my job or my role as an actress could be,” the star explains.

Emma knows that the character she plays in this film is unlike any other she’s ever done, which is why she felt it necessary to accept the offer to do the movie.

She’s been trying to avoid typecasting for years, though both fans and critics believe she doesn’t really have reason to worry: her work is varied enough not to be put into a box.

“I was open-minded about doing anything but the one thing I didn't want to do was get myself into a corset because I was worried I would never get out again,” Emma tells the mag.

“This has been a really big departure for me. It's a really big character. That's so exciting for me because it meant I was really acting,” she continues.

“The Bling Ring” will be out in theaters in June this year.
