Emma Stone is funny and it's not just her movies that prove that, but also the praises she got so far for her SNL hosting jobs. The second time she hosted, the other night, she got to open the show with some help not from one, but two Spider-Men.

As fans must know, Emma and Andrew Garfield will hit the big screen next summer in a new Spider-Man movie that aims to be a reboot of the franchise, “The Amazing Spider-Man.”

Much has been said about and, most importantly, against the new movie, including that it won't do justice to the franchise and that the movie studio should just let it be and call it a day.

All these are things that Andy Samberg includes in his speech. Hanging from the ceiling, Andy interrupts Emma's monologue to say he wants to audition for the part.

Nothing can deter him from doing so, not even being told that the movie has already been shot and that a good Spider-Man has been found in Andrew Garfield, who Andy mistakes for Garfield the cat.

After more hanging upside down and a failure to get Emma to get freaky with him by reading to her the same lines that he read to Kristen Dunst (who, back in 2001 also did SNL to promote Spider-Man and her role in it), Andy is confronted by the real Spidey.

To his amazement and shock, Garfield is British. Andy can't understand how, in this economy, when Americans are out of a job, “we're outsourcing Spider-Man” and the Brits seem to be taking over.

He has the same reaction when he hears that Coldplay, a British band, will be performing on the show later on.

Even with Samberg's “harassing” her, Stone had an amazing night, which was confirmed by the praise she received on all channels after the episode aired.

Entertainment Weekly, for instance, compares the performances of the most recent hosts, and decrees that “Stone belongs in the conversation of talented recent hosts.”
