The feud between the two escalates

They have repeatedly denied any harsh feelings between them, but, judging from Eminem’s latest release, the dissing is far from over. While few are those who can actually remember in detail what started the dispute, in the past weeks, fans have seen more than a fair share of bitter exchanges of words, with Eminem’s most recent being perhaps the most bitter and foul-mouthed, as MTV can confirm.

“The Warning” from Eminem is the ultimate diss at Mariah’s expense. Not only does the rapper threaten in the latest song to release intimate photos and phone messages the diva once left him, but he also goes into excruciating detail as regards their encounters. Nick Cannon, Mariah’s husband, is not left out either, as Em also takes several swings at him, saying at one point in the song that, before he threatens to ruin his career, he might want to consider getting one for himself – other than that of being Carey’s husband.

“The battle pitting Eminem against Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon – which began with Em’s ‘Bagpipes From Baghdad’ and continued with Carey’s ‘Obsessed’ – took another turn Thursday night (July 30), when Slim Shady dropped a new dis track against Mariah called ‘The Warning.’ Before he starts rapping, Em tells Carey, ‘Only reason I dissed you in the first place is because you denied seeing me. Now I’m [expletive] off.’ He doesn’t stop there. ‘You wanna hear something wick wack?/ I got the same exact tattoo that’s on Nick’s back,’ the Detroit MC says a few seconds into his rap.” MTV writes of the rapper’s latest song.

Eminem makes it clear from the start that he was not OK with Mariah’s “Obsessed,” both the track and the video. Apparently, the diva dressing up as him with a goatee and grey hoodie and lurking around street corners was too much for the rapper, who thus felt compelled to answer in a similar manner. Presumably, that’s how “The Warning” came to be, although, in all fairness, while Mariah played it cool (albeit obvious), Eminem spares no expense in terms of foul language and deprecatory terms when speaking of the one he calls his former “boo.”

“‘Oh gee, is that supposed to be me in the video with the goatee?/ Wow Mariah, didn’t expect ya to go [expletive] out./ [Expletive], shut the [expletive] up before I put all those phone calls out/ When you was wilding out/ Before Nick, when you was on my [expletive].’ From there, Em goes onto [sic.] graphically describe what he alleges was his one encounter with Carey, labels her a ‘liar’ and other ugly names, and threatens to reveal personal pictures and phones messages he has of Carey. Eminem then plays bits of what sounds like it could be Carey’s voice at the end of song: The unidentified woman refers to herself as ‘Mary Poppins.’ ‘[If] you gonna ruin my career, you better get one,’ Em advises Nick Cannon.” MTV further says of the song.
