A man from Saudi Arabia has required a forklift in order to be removed from his apartment for medical treatment.

Khaled Mohsen Shaeri, who is in his twenties, lives on the second floor in Jizan and he weighs 1,345 pounds (610 kg). He now requires surgery and he has been airlifted to the capital city of Riyadh for the operation.

Special equipment was needed for the mission, as emergency crews required a special bed to carry Shaeri out. Said bed was brought in from the United States and the Saudi Civil Defense were called in to transport the patient.

Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz himself took care of the costs for the weight loss surgery, Al Arabiya reports. He was operated on at King Fahd Medical City.
