The unwanted messages that are continuously assaulting our inboxes tend to become more dangerous and this is proved by a recent spam campaign that promotes a simple message: "Pay up or die!" According to PC Advisor, the scammers are now trying to threat the victims by sending a detailed email message to require them a certain amount of money in order to leave them alive. The procedure was quite simple but also very dangerous because the entire message was sent from valid email accounts in comparison with older forms of spam when the hackers used bots or proxies. Now, the message requires $30.000 to leave the victims alive although they were hired to kill them.

"I have followed you closely for one week and five days now and have seen that you are innocent of the accusation. Do not contact the police or try to send a copy of this to them, because if you do I will know, and might be compelled to do what I have being paid to do. Besides this is the first time I turned out to be a betrayer in my job," the letter states," the message said according to the same source.

However, 115 users sent their complaints to the FBI that sustain the receivers of the messages must ignore them and avoid replying to the sender. At this time almost 1.000 emails were sent on the Internet but the authorities didn't confirm any successful exploitation of the threat. It seems like all the messages are sent from valid accounts hosted by Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail, three of the most appreciated email providers on the Internet. As you know, Gmail is regarded as the most efficient email solution against spam messages but it has recently had numerous vulnerabilities that allow unwanted mails to invade our inboxes.
