The Ellipsis products are described as “a value category” unique to the carrier

Yesterday we saw a mysterious image of a Verizon-branded tablet, from an announced line of devices called Ellipsis, leak online curtsey of @evleaks.

But the guys over at PhoneArena were also treated with something special. An anonymous source slipped under their office’s door a handout apparently given to Verizon staff during a recent meeting, which shows Verizon planning a launching event on November 7 for a family of budget devices called Ellipsis.

And the first device to make an appearance will be the Ellipsis 7 slate, which is expected to come sporting a 7-inch IPS HD screen with a purported resolution of 1280 x 800.

The life force comes from a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, but the model is not known yet, and odds are that we’re going to see a cheaper MediaTek SoC. In addition, there’s a mention in the document saying that Verizon is looking to make the device “comparable to other Android tablets,” so the device will run an Android version of sorts.

There’s going to be 8GB of internal storage onboard and more to be added via the microSD card. A front-facing camera will probably also be present, but there’s no information about the existence of a rear one at the moment. The handout mentions the 4000mAh battery life and the fact that the Ellipsis 7 will be 4G-enabled.

Verizon will pre-pack the slate with a bunch of apps customers might find worthy of attention, like VZ Navigator, Verizon Messages, My Verizon and RedBox Instant.

A missing piece of the puzzle represents the fact that the manufacturer of the upcoming Ellipsis isn't named in the document.

Certainly, the specifications won’t blow anybody’s mind away, but the slate will be priced very affordably, so that might actually draw more customers in.

Users will be able to grab the tablet without any other additional contract for $249 / €183. If that sounds too much, there’s the option of jumping on board with a 2-year contract at Verizon. If you choose to do so, the price will considerably drop with $100 / €74.
