A video of a couple of bikers in trouble is garnering a lot of YouTube views this week. The motorcycle riders are being chased by an elk on the highway.

The Mirror revealed that the elk was raised by a local. The video was captured by Heather Leigh as her boyfriend, Glen, was riding. It is available by scrolling over this news article.

"We stopped behind the truck and saw a bull elk approach the truck. The person in the truck must have had some food because the elk jumped up on his hind legs and peered in to the drivers window," she describes.

Bobby, the elk, was hand fed and he was not weary of humans. He is shown in the clip above getting dangerously close to the pair on the bike. He is running after them on the highway.

"Then the elk jumped down and started to approach us. I was surprised that the elk came so close to us and I could feel a great deal of tension between us and the animal.

"I am willing to bet that if Glen hadn't hit the throttle when he had, that elk would have jumped up on us. [...] I didn't want the animal to chase us on the road and put it in any danger so losing it seemed appropriate," Heather adds.

The animal had to be put down because he had become too much of a nuisance, officials at Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks decided.

"When we met him early in the summer, he was very gentle. He lived a quiet life not knowing what species he was, until Mother Nature appeared and drove him into full rut. At that point, he started to try to mount anything," resident Bonita Rogers describes.
