Elizabeth Banks is now promoting “Lego Movie,” in which she voices the lead female character but, in her interview with The Today Show a few hours ago, she also had to tackle a topic she’s clearly not ready yet to discuss: Sir Philip Seymour Hoffman’s death.

As fans probably know, in “The Hunger Games,” Banks plays the eccentric Effie. Hoffman, who died last weekend of a supposed heroin overdose, is one of the latest additions to the cast, with the actress now saying she’s still in shock over news of his passing.

“I'm still processing it. I really am in shock,” she says.

“He is an absolutely amazing actor, respected by everyone and part of our family at ‘The Hunger Games.’ We will miss him terribly, and obviously, [we're] really upset for his children and his partner. It's just a tragedy,” Banks continues.

On the upside, Banks says she’s really thrilled for “Lego Movie” because it features a couple of characters who are really great role models for kids, and for the “Pitch Perfect” sequel, which she will star in and direct.

Below is the interview.
