Activision has announced the bands that will make their debut in the upcoming Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, the new music simulation title that will arrive for the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Nintendo Wii.

Here are the bands that will make their first appearance in a Guitar Hero franchise video game:

Anberlin – “The Feel Good Drag” Arch Enemy – “Nemesis” The Dillinger Escape Plan – “Setting Fire To Sleeping Giants” John 5 – “Black Widow Of La Porte” Neil Young – “Rockin' In The Free World” Orianthi – “Suffocated” Queensrÿche – “Jet City Woman” Red Rider – “Lunatic Fringe” RX Bandits – “It's Only Another Parsec...” Snot – “Deadfall” Tesla – “Modern Day Cowboy”

Tim Riley, who is the vice president of Music Affairs, stated, “One of the great things about Guitar Hero is that it’s in a unique position to expose millions of people to great music by bands they may otherwise never listen to.”

“Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock delivers an impressive 90+ set-list and we are happy to be introducing our fans to 11 bands that have never before been featured in a Guitar Hero game”, added the executive.

Joey Milligan, the lead guitar player for Anberlin, also chipped in, “It’s seriously a huge honour to be included in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. It is surreal to have our name next to so many great bands and amazing songs! I can’t wait to play this!”

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is set to take a few cues from Brutal Legend, with players no longer just playing rock songs in an effort to get a high score but embarking on an epic journey which will pit them against demons as they try to save rock itself.

The new Guitar Hero is set to feature music from bands like Black Sabbath, Slipknot, Megadeth, Queen, Muse and KISS.
