News from South Africa says that, while driving around the Krueger National Park, two Chinese tourists were attacked by an elephant.

The animal reportedly turned their car topsy-turvy, causing one of the tourists to suffer significant injuries and forcing him to seek treatment at a nearby hospital.

“An elephant overturned a vehicle driven by two tourists of Chinese origin i.e. male and female, on the H1-7 tar road between Shingwedzi and Punda Maria in the Kruger National Park (KNP) around 06:30 this morning,” reads a statement issued by the park's officials.

Furthermore, “The driver (male) sustained injuries and a helicopter, local doctor and paramedics rushed to the scene of the accident to attend to him immediately.”

For the time being, nobody can say why it was that the elephant behaved in that aggressive manner towards the tourists.

Other people visiting the Krueger National Park have been asked to be extremely cautious and keep their distance from any elephants they might run into.
