Matt Firor, the leader of the development team at ZeniMax Online, is ready to give players who are interested in The Elder Scrolls Online more information on the coming launch of the MMO and the changes that have been made after the beta stage of the title.

In a lengthy letter aimed at the fans the developer says that more than 5 million gamers took place in the testing process for the new experience so far and that all of them have helped the studio to test the core infrastructure and the main mechanics.

Firror says that most gamers appreciate the experience offered by The Elder Scrolls Online but that his team has made a number of changes based on their feedback.

He explains that the starting areas were inadequate and that, "After exiting the modified, more streamlined tutorial in Coldharbour, new characters now wake up in the first major city of their respective Alliance as opposed to being forced to go through the starter islands."

The original areas are still offered to all those who want to visit them but ZeniMax Online wants gamers to have the freedom to explore Tamriel as quickly as possible.

Another element of the game that was tweaked was the combat, with the game director explaining that, "We continue to identify ways to make melee combat feel even more substantial. In addition to many tweaks and changes to animations and audio, we’ve added player collision with NPCs, which means your character will no longer be able to run through NPC enemies."

A large portion of the letter is also devoted to explanation about the way servers will be distributed around the world to make sure that gamers will be able to get a lag free experience regardless of where they are located.

ZeniMax Online promises that all overflow servers will be handled on launch date to make sure that all gamers can access the MMO and asks all those who take part in the final beta stage of the title to report any problems that they are facing.

The Elder Scrolls Online will be offered on both the PC and the Mac on April 4 of this year and a release for the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony in the early weeks of summer.

The game will require a monthly subscription fee and promises to deliver quality content for a long period after it is launched.
