Apple continues to test Mac OS X 10.6.4 amid rumors of a release around its Worldwide Developers Conference, which, unfortunately, haven’t materialized. On the good side, the Mac maker appears to have just a limited number of focus areas for the development cycle of 10.6.4, with this build’s seed notes showing no significant changes compared with its predecessors.

Mac OS X 10.6.4 build 10F569 weighs in at 613.8MB in delta form, and is 894MB in size as a combo update, according to a screenshot leaked by 9to5mac. In usual manner, the software is accompanied by a 7KB text document containing the seed notes for Mac OS X 10.6.4 Build 10F569. For their part, these have been published by World of Apple, a generally reliable source of such leaks. According to this source, the changelog for Mac OS X 10.6.4 Build 10F569 is provided by Apple as shown below.

Included in this update

- Resolve an issue that causes the keyboard or trackpad to become unresponsive; - Resolve an issue that may prevent some Adobe Creative Suite 3 applications from opening; - Address issues copying, renaming, or deleting files on SMB file servers; - Improve reliability of VPN connections; - Resolve a playback issue in DVD Player when using Good Quality deinterlacing; - Resolve an issue editing photos with iPhoto or Aperture in full screen view; - Improve compatibility with some Braille displays.

Known Issues

- None.

Focus Areas: - Graphics Drivers; - SMB; - USB; - Voice Over; - VPN.

As mentioned above, the focus areas have remained unchanged for several builds now, as with the listing of no known issues – always a sign that development is coming along nicely. The sources leaking these tidbits continue to speculate that Apple is releasing Mac OS X 10.6.4 publicly this month. It is fair to assume this is the case, going by the seed notes included with each recent test build.
