The piglet's extra limbs are attached to its belly, don't seem to hinder its movements

Just a few days ago, on August 2, a sow living at a remote farm in the Nanchuan District of China's Chongqing municipality delivered a bizarre offspring that has not four, but eight legs.

A photo of this odd piglet born in China earlier this month is available next to this article. As one can easily notice, the extra limbs are attached to its belly.

The ones in the front measure about 4 centimeters (about 1.6 inches) in length. The ones in the back, on the other hand, are about twice as long, Daily Mail informs.

Despite its anatomical quirks, the piglet appears to have no trouble getting around and keeping up with its seven siblings. Still, it's unclear what its life expectancy might be, the same source explains.

The sow that delivered this oddity is said to belong to 63-year-old Tang Yongxiu. The farmer says that, despite the fact that he has been raising livestock for about 20 years now, he has never seen anything like it.

This is yet to be confirmed, but specialists who have had the chance to have a look at the piglet say it likely developed the extra limbs either as a result of inbreeding or due to a wacky genetic mutation.
