As most Xbox 360 owners already know, their version of Tomb Raider Anniversary comes in two different forms: a regular game disc (just as the PS2 and PSP versions) and as downloadable episodic content via Xbox Live Marketplace. The Xbox 360 version of the adventure title is the only one that comes in a downloadable episodic version. Eidos has finally dated the Xbox 360 port. Xboxers will be able to get the retail version of the game on October 26th, while the downloadable episodic version will be available for Xbox Live users in November.

The official report says: Eidos Interactive Ltd., part of SCi Entertainment Group, one of the world's leading publishers and developers of entertainment software, is pleased to confirm that Tomb Raider Anniversary on Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, will be released on October 26th at retail and then in November as episodic downloadable content on Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

"Anniversary has already been a great success on PS2 and PC Games for Windows and now 360 owners will get the choice of either owning a boxed copy or downloading the game straight to their 360 hard drive.", said Kathryn Clements, Senior Brand Manager for Tomb Raider.

There's a small catch though, for those looking to download chunks of Lara via XBLM. Fans of the series should already know that in order to access Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary downloadable episodic content, they will be required the Tomb Raider Legend game disc.

So remember that the retail version which everyone owning a 360 is anxiously waiting for, launches on the 26th of October, with the downloadable episodic content due for XBLM launch later in November. Eidos has also confirmed that additional Tomb Raider Anniversary DLC will also become available for purchase on Marketplace, including picture packs and theme packs, to support the launch of Tomb Raider Episodic.
