At this year’s People’s Choice Awards, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, the actors who play Edward Cullen and Bella Swan in the “Twilight” movies, were both absent. Host Queen Latifah made up for it by bringing Edward to the awards ceremony – or, at least, a video of her trying to convince him to come to Los Angeles for the grand event, as MTV can confirm.

The “New Moon” spoof, while not the only parody presented on the giant screens during the ceremony, was by far the most appreciated. It had Queen Latifah in it but, most importantly, it had the brooding vampire Edward, in a scene made possible thanks to the original segment from the movie, in which Edward tells Bella that he and his family are leaving town and she will be left behind, the famous breakup scene.

“Giving country star Taylor Swift a run for her money in the ‘Twilight’ parody department, People’s Choice Awards host Queen Latifah donned Bella Swan’s signature brunette locks to spoof the blockbuster flick. Superimposed into the ‘Twilight’ sequel ‘New Moon,’ Queen Latifah acted out the scene in which Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) dumps Bella (Kristen Stewart),” MTV says of the skit.

“The Queen hilariously riffed off of Robert’s lines from the film, including a discussion of the Cullen clan being much older than they appear. ‘Everyone in L.A. is 10 years older than they look. It’s called Botox,’ she retorted. At the end, when Edward finally leaves her alone in the woods, Latifah simply responded, ‘Fine, disappear. I’ll just get the werewolf to do the show’,” the same media outlet goes on to say.

After Edward leaves and Latifah is left looking around, wondering how she can find her way out of the forest, the camera zooms in on Taylor Lautner (the “werewolf” in question that did make it to the show), who is laughing out loud. Below is the entire “New Moon” spoof. Enjoy.
