People are anxious to find out what exactly caused the surprising departure of Edgar Wright from the “Ant-Man” movie, a project he'd been working on for the past six years, and one that he not only was going to direct but that he also co-wrote.

Today, Latino-Review is coming forward with some additional news on the story and the big break is that Wright was not fired but left of his own accord, after he decided that his own vision for the project had been compromised.

Marvel Studios, the one handling the production of the movie, is said to have given Wright's and Cornish's “Ant-Man” script to two “low-credit writers” who made significant modifications to it.

“The script came in this week and was completely undone,” claims an inside source, adding that it was “poorer, homogenized, and not Edgar's vision. Edgar met with Marvel on Friday to formally exit and the announcement went out directly after.”

“Edgar and Joe were upset by the sudden, out of nowhere, lack of faith in them as filmmakers. [Marvel Studios president Kevin] Feige had always batted for them but this felt like it came from the higher ups,” claims the source, and the rest is common knowledge.

Since the announcement was made, Marvel has vowed to find a director as soon as possible, especially since filming on the production was scheduled to begin shortly. Marvel has also said that Wright's departure wasn't going to affect the movie's release date of July 17, 2015, after it was already pushed back once before.
