The belts come in three colors: white, black and red

Christmas has passed, but this does not mean one has to wait until next year to gift either themselves, or close friends or family members with a cool belt that also happens to be eco-friendly.

The belts I'm talking about are the brainchild of eco-fashion company Hosegear. They come in three colors, i.e. white, black and red, and are made from retired fire hoses.

Thanks to the wear and tear these hoses all suffered over the many years they were used by firefighters, the belts they have been turned into are all fairly unique.

As their manufacturers explain, “All the marks, numbers, discolorations and wear patterns make every belt unique with the character and different story to tell.”

The belts, pictured above, are fitted with stainless steel dual pin buckle and two rows of steel eyelets, and, if you ask me, do not in the least look like they used to be fire hoses.

The company is now looking for funding to expand its business agenda, and add new products to its collection in the not so distant future. To this end, they have launched a campaign on Indiegogo.

The campaign will end on January 12, 2014, so those willing to help it have time to do so.
