Summer is almost upon us and, at the same time, so is that dreaded moment when we must take out our old swimsuit or go out to buy a new one, and notice that, perhaps, we’re not in the same enviable shape we were last year. Since fasting or going on a crash diet is not a healthy option, as nutritionists have repeatedly warned us, we might as well lend an ear to the suggestion that eating grapefruit will help us burn fat and lose weight.

Grapefruit, it has been said, has a high water content and lots of nutrients our body needs so badly now, in spring. Thus, eating as many grapefruits, and other fruits and vegetables as well, will help us lose the weight in the most delicious way possible, by making us feel full and, at the same time, more active than we would be by dieting alone.

By including as many fruits as we can in our daily diet, we will also chase away the permanent hunger feeling that is one of the major downsides of dieting, because we could indulge as often as we would want, or feel the need to, nutritionists say.

Another healthy and extremely useful tip to shed a few pounds and, ultimately, look gorgeous and ready for those beach parties, is not to skip breakfast, health experts share. Countless studies have already shown that people who eat breakfast are less prone to being overweight, while also being more active and likely to maintain their weight constant, it has been noted. They don’t call breakfast the most important meal of the day for nothing.

To combine these two tips, nutritionists recommend including a grapefruit in our breakfast meal as well. Of course, that does not mean that eating fruit is the sole solution for our swimsuit-related problem, one might as well add, since some form of physical exercise is also recommended to tone those muscles and get rid of the extra fat. In this sense, climbing stairs is one of the most convenient and useful workout exercises, as trainers point out.

All that we need to get back into shape for the beach is, understandably, a couple of flights of stairs. As noted before, we should start climbing them slowly at first, and then pick up the pace as we warm up. Moreover, if we’re to follow this simple exercise with a couple of minutes of intense cardio, then we will surely look our best in our swimsuit this summer.
