Easter is right around the corner for most Christians and, as always, the holiday is a perfect opportunity for scammers to step into play. Symantec experts have identified numerous spam emails advertising all sorts of shady products and services.

Originating from “the Easter Bunny,” “Easter Clearance,” “Easter Flowers,” “Personalized Easter Gifts” or “Easter Sale,” the emails advertise offers on vehicles, toys, loans, personalized gifts, e-cards, flowers, and Easter Bunny letters for children.

The classic pharmacy scams are also in the holiday spirit, promising even more great deals and discounts.

While many of the offers might appear very attractive, the chances for them to be part of a malicious scheme are fairly high.

The products you order will likely be entirely different from what you expect, that’s if you get something at all. Not to mention the fact that in some cases, these advertisement are just the bait that’s used to trick internauts into visiting websites that harvest personal information or ones that serve malware.
