Casio has announced today the latest cameras in the Exilim lineup, the EX-V8 and the EX-Z1080, both with an interesting feature pack, but nothing you haven't seen before.

The EX-V8 boasts an 8.1 effective megapixel CCD with a 7x optical zoom lens, which covers a generous focal range. Moreover, the CCD-shifting mechanism enables true image stabilization, albeit a fake ISO-boosting feature is also present.

The EX-Z1080 takes the pixel count higher, at 10.1 megapixels, but its lens stops at 3x optical zoom. Casio mentions ISO 6400, but you should know that high ISO means horrible noise, especially with small sensors such as those featured by compact cameras.

Both new models incorporate the EXILIM Engine 2.0 processing module, which also allows movies to be recorded at the high compression rate of H.264 standard. They also feature the YouTube Capture Mode, which enables you to shoot and save movies at the optimum size, quality and other settings for YouTube. Casio has also included an exclusive software application that makes it fast and simple to upload movies. The YouTube feature was first seen on the EX-S880 and EX-Z77 models launched on July 11.
