After a period when PC suppliers were quite active, hardware makers have resumed their periodical product update routine, and EVGA seems quite eager to grab the hearts of consumers by releasing motherboards equipped with the latest storage technologies, such as the new X58 SLI3.

The black X58 SLI3 (codenamed 131-GT-E767-TR) from EVGA was confirmed to be in development at Computex 2010 and has now been added to the company's website.

Basically, it is a high-end ATX platform that supports top-tier Intel central processing units and high-speed storage, among other things.

For one, the platform is built around the LGA 1366 socket, which makes it compatible with powerful Intel quad-core and six-core chips, among other things.

Secondly, the product features six triple channel-ready DDR3-1600 memory slots, which allows for the addition of a very high memory capacity.

The maximum achievable is of 24GB DDR3 at 1,600 MHz or more (six modules of 4GB each).

The board also integrates three PCI Express x16 slots, with full support for ATI CrossFireX and NVIDIA SLI multi-GPU configurations.

End-users looking for high-speed storage will be especially pleased to know that, in addition to six SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, EVGA provided not just two SATA 6.0 Gbps connectors, but also a pair of USB 3.0 ports.

These components will let purchasers take advantage of the maximum transfer rates of their high-speed storage solutions, be they internal or external.

As for connectivity and other I/O, EVGA threw in the obligatory Gigabit Ethernet, 8 USB 2.0 ports, FireWire and 7.1 channel audio, among other things.

Finally, a Clear CMOS button is present on the motherboard, as are power and reset buttons. Those interested in buying this hardware need only stop by the official website. Purchasers will need to part with $200 and will benefit from a 2-year limited warranty scheme.
