As most computer enthusiasts already know, NVIDIA partner EVGA is focused on providing its users with high-end products, mostly based on NVIDIA's chipsets or GPUs. However, ever since Intel launched the Nehalem-based X58 platform, the graphics card maker has decided to take a different path and build a Core i7-supporting platform of its own. Driven by its quest to develop better, faster, stronger motherboards, EVGA has officially released the X58 3X SLI 'Classified' mobo.

As you may imagine, this board is meant to enable support for Core i7 processors, Intel's highest-performance CPUs to date. However, no EVGA board would be finished without the support for NVIDIA's own technology, including the multi-GPU NVIDIA SLI technology. That is where the new 'Classified' board from EVGA comes into play, as it combines Intel's Core i7 processors with NVIDIA's high-performance triple-SLI graphics technology. Computer enthusiasts can take advantage of the performance capabilities of Intel's fastest processors to date and NVIDIA's latest high-end GPUs.

The X58 3X SLI 'Classified' board boasts Intel's socket 1366, dual- or triple-channel DDR3 memory support, 10 SATA ports (1x e-SATA), 10 USB ports, 4 PCI-Express x8/16 slots, one PCI-Express x1 and one PCI. In addition to that, users will also be able to benefit from EVGA's own ECP (EVGA Control Panel), an overclocking tool that enables enthusiasts quick access to system tweaking. Also, in the overclocking offering EVGA can provide users with the E-LEET tuning utility, which also enables easier overclocking and system monitoring.

Because the board is built on the X58 chipset it will also allow users to take advantage of a CrossFireX setup, somewhat ironic for an EVGA board. Price-wise the X58 SLI Classified is yours for about US$450, which is somewhat justified by the high number of features.
