14 DAY TRIAL // CCP Games has updated the developer blog with information on four new epic mission arcs recently added to its sci-fi MMO, EVE Online, available for Mac and PC. CCP Games earlier announced that the mini-expansion pack Apocrypha 1.5 was becoming available Thursday, August 20.
Apocrypha 1.5 brought, among other additions, small and medium ship rigs, several new epic mission arcs, specialized cargo holds, and more. “Since the release of Apocrypha, the Content team has been developing and producing more arcs of the epic variety,” CCP Games now reveals. “As a result, four new epic arcs have been added, one for each of the major empire factions. I'll cut right to the chase and give you their descriptions,” CCP Jasonitas says on the EVE Online dev blog.
The new arcs include the Caldari arc: “Penumbra;” Amarr arc: “Right to Rule;” Gallente arc: “Syndication;” Minmatar arc: “Wildfire.” As noted by the developer, the post includes a short description of each arc, complete with info on design ideas behind the missions, as well as advice for the players. “We hope you enjoy this latest batch of epic arcs and the stories we have to offer,” CCP Jasonitas concludes. “We promise we have more to come.”
EVE takes place in a cluster of stars far from mankind’s original habitat. Humans arrived here through a natural wormhole, not knowing where they were. From the New Eden solar system, humans started colonizing the Cosmos within their reach. CCP and TransGaming collaborated to develop the Mac and Linux versions of the game to allow users of more platforms to play within the same, perpetual, online universe. Seamless integration of EVE Online's original game code was achieved with Cider, TransGaming’s tool for porting Windows titles to Mac OS X.
