The EK-FB ASUS M6I covers both the CPU and the important motherboard areas

Normally, a water cooling system inside a desktop has a reservoir pumping water to a water block covering the central processing units and a second one, or even a third, dealing with the motherboard chips, and maybe one more for the graphics card. EK tried something different here.

The EK-FB ASUS M6I is, quite simply, an all-in-one water block that covers both the ASUS Maximus VI Impact motherboard and whatever LGA 1150 Core i7 CPU you install on it.

Not to be confused with closed-loop liquid coolers though. This thing still needs an actual water cooling system. It's not an independent piece.

There are six versions of the cooler, priced according to the component materials. All ship with backplates, thermal paste and, in the case of the ones with Plexi top, have 3mm LEDs.

"We're excited to introduce our first AIO water block. EK-FB ASUS M6I provides sleek design with only two in- and out- water ports which greatly improves the functionality of the unit," said Niko Tivadar, EK-FB ASUS M6I main designer and product manager of EKWB.

"Uncompromised CPU cooling is ensured by the use of our award-winning EK-Supremacy CPU water block cooling engine. ASUS Maximus VI Impact motherboard, paired with our cooling solution, represents the foundation for building the flagship performance small-form factor D.I.Y. gaming machine."

The newcomer covers the CPU sockets, the southbridge PCH, and the power regulator module (VRM / MOSFETs) module. Its very high flow design ensures that even systems with weak water pumps get the best out of it.
