The maker of water-cooling equipment is not as versatile as once thought

Ljubljana-based premium water-cooling gear manufacturer EK Water Blocks released the EK-FC770 GTX series water block some time ago.

Said water block was supposed to cool any GeForce GTX 770, as the name implies.

Sadly, it turns out that this is not the case, as EK was forced to realize and admit.

Long story short, the EK-FC770 GTX works fine with normal and most custom models but not with the EVGA 4 GB.

It's not even because of the memory chip placement, but because of the non-standard inductor coils, namely for the Vdd voltage regulation circuitry.

Forcing the custom water block on the 4 GB GTX 770 cards will warp the circuit board.

So to sum up, the following two video adapters are not supported by the EK-FC770 GTX:

EVGA GeForce GTX 770 ACX Cooler 4GB GDDR5 (04G-P4-3773) EVGA GeForce GTX 770 Superclocked ACX Cooler 4GB GDDR5 (04G-P4-3774)
