Eager to make its own contribution to the vast market of liquid crystal displays, EIZO has come out and unveiled a new monitor, the Foris FS2331, a 23-inch Full HD solution set to start selling shortly.

EIZO is a company that, rather than for consumer-oriented products, is better known for its professional displays.

Nevertheless, the outfit decided it was time to put its expertise to good use on the consumer front as well, so it designed a new 23-inch monitor that uses a VA panel.

Short for vertical alignment, the VA panel promises to perform well during multimedia playback and gaming, as well as for photo editing.

Also, in terms of image quality, the panel has a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m2, a dynamic contrast ratio of up to 10,000:1 and a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

What's more, the monitor boasts a response time of 7ms G2G (gray to gray) and an EcoView sensor, which detects ambient lighting conditions and adjusts the screen brightness accordingly.

Other specifications include two 0.5W speakers and six preset modes, namely Cinema, sRGB, Game, Paper and two more that can be used to save user-adjustable settings.

As for connectivity with a wide variety of PC graphics cards, EIZO threw in D-Sub, DVU and dual HDMI inputs.

Finally, the new EIZO FS2331 23-inch LCD is accompanied by a five-year warranty and expected to show up in stores shortly, which means its price will be revealed soon.

Extra customer assurance can be found in the fact that the product complies with the TCO Display 5.1 and TUV Ergonomics industry standards.

“The FORIS FS2331 is a 23'' home entertainment monitor with the image quality and feature set to make it optimal for gaming, watching videos, photo editing, and reading ebooks,” states the official product page.
