Flash drives have become one of the most important portable data storage solutions over the past few years, as they allow users to carry around large (and very large) amounts of data in a very small and lightweight form factor. However, their evolution is far from over and the latest product coming from the people at EDGE Tech Corp proves it only very well, as the company has just announced a new model from their DiskGO series, which offers 32 GB of storage space for under 400 US dollars.

Encased in a sleek, silver housing, the 32GB DiskGO Flash Drive can prove to be quite a good portable data storage solution, providing an enhanced level of data portability, protection and recovery. Moreover, the device's 32 GB storage capacity (bigger than an old HDD I still use for backup) provides pretty much all the space the mobile user might require, holding up to 21,000 pictures, 32 hours of video, 8,000 songs, or 320,000 documents.

With a transfer rate of up to 480Mb/s (USB 2.0 interface), the drive includes a free preview of CryptArchiver encryption software, which ciphers up to 25MB of data at 128-bit AES encryption. However, users who find this application useful can purchase a full version that enables users to encrypt up to 20GB of data stored within the drive.

Furthermore, the DiskGO Flash Drive is USB powered and plug-and-play convenient, which means that there is no need to restart the computer before use. Offered with a lifetime warranty and toll-free technical support, the drive features a durable keychain grommet, built-in pen clip and removable cap.

Quite proud of his company's latest development, EDGE Tech Corp president and CEO, Jeff Thompson, declared that "We're proud to be at the forefront of technology with this drive's enormous capacity. We will continue producing state-of-the-art computer products for people on the go."

As mentioned earlier, one of the most important selling points of the new 32 GB DiskGO flash drive is its price tag. Thus, the device has a MSRP of 399 US dollars, which is quite a good price for a drive with such a high capacity, thus signaling the fact that the increased competition on this market will surely bring about some very serious price drops in the near future.
