While EVGA is busy showing off its X58 platform, Elitegroup Computer Systems has gone for the other side of the field and supplied AMD's AM3 CPUs with a new motherboard, the so-called A890GXM-A2.

It seems that black PCBs (printed circuit boards) are becoming a sort of trend among high-end hardware now that ECS used this color scheme in the making of its mainboard.

In fact, this is no different from how EVGA itself used a black PCB in the creation of the X58 Classified3 that was released just a short while ago.

ECS's product goes by the name of A890GXM-A2 and uses the same full ATX form factor as EVGA's product.

It is based on the 890GX / SB850 chipset and is described as the first platform to feature a genuine PCI Express Gen.2 bandwidth with USB 3.0.

In addition to supporting AMD AM3 central processing units, the product boasts the Radeon HD 4290 integrated graphics solution which has 12 MB o SidePort memory to work with.

ECS also threw in no less than five SATA 6.0 Gbps ports and and eSATA port, so that any system may benefit from both external and internal high-speed storage.

The company even went as far as adding a pair of USB 3.0 connectors to the I/O panel, ready to put its 5 Gbps bandwidth to good use when communicating with next-generation external HDDs, SSDs or flash drives.

Furthermore, for stronger graphics, the hardware maker implemented three PCI Express x16 slots that support CrossFireX and Hybrid CrossFire multi-GPU configurations.

Other specifications include dual Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, Power and Reset buttons on the board itself and, of course, D-Sub, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort video outputs.
