Now that February is nearing its own end and CeBIT is coming closer and closer, IT companies are, understandably, preparing for the expo, and ECS is among the ones who more recently gave some inkling as to their plans.

Many tablets may have been unleashed during the 2011 MWC (Mobile World Congress) expo, but the string of new launches is far from over.

In fact, not just slates, but various other things have already been revealed to be on track for official release between March 1 and 5, 2011.

Among other things, some Enermax high-end PC cases and cooling products are known to be inbound, as are 80Plus Platinum Cougar PSUs, an EKL video card cooler and mini PC barebones from Shuttle.

It would appear that ECS (Elitegroup Computer Systems) has its own set of devices in store, that being composed of an e-book reader, notebooks, a Classmate PC and, last but not least, tablets.

The slates are called ElitePad and are powered by Intel Oak Trail Atom processors, or the Marvell Dove chip.

One thing that may stand out is that, while measuring the same 10.1 inches as most other tablets, the touchscreens have support for HD media (resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels).

The one(s) based on an x86 processor, unsurprisingly, will be loaded with the Windows 7 OS (operating system), while the other rest will run Android.

Needless to say, like all others of their kind, the ElitePads will feature a full set of connectivity capabilities (3.5G, Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi).

ECS also revealed that 7-inch slates are part of its future plans, only they will come out later, around June, possibly during Computex.

Either way, the company is expected to turn at least a few heads, maybe cause a few ripples once CeBIT 2011, taking place in Hannover, Germany, comes around.
