While some gamers are anxiously waiting for Halo 3, GTA IV or Hellgate: London, others (and quite a lot of them) scratch their eyes when they see November 16th crossed on the calendar, the day when Crysis launches. However, EA thought to ease the fans' pain a little and decided to launch a demo of the game a little bit sooner (duh! - they couldn't roll out the demo after the full game's release...).

Pro-g.co.uk writes: "EA has announced that PC gamers will soon be able to sample an entire level from the Crysis single-player campaign. The demo is set to go live on September 25, which coincidentally is also the day Halo 3 launches for Xbox 360."

Crysis is set in 2019. You play as Jake Dunn, a United States Delta Force operator. Dunn and his team are sent to pacify a situation in which a group of United States archaeologists are taken captive by the North Korean military while investigating a mysterious ancient artifact that was found in the Spratly Islands, located in the South China Sea, as Wikipedia writes. Players are faced with three very different environments / acts, as the story unfolds.

If you've played Far Cry, then as soon as you get your hands on the Crysis demo you'll see that the game will be even more open-ended with more ways to meet objectives. Another addition to the previous Far Cry formula is that any weapon may be modified with devices such as suppressors, telescopic sights, and targeting lasers.

What's even better is that Dunn is also capable of being modified, as the game's protagonist wears a US Military prototype "Nano Muscle Suit." According to the developers, the suit is capable of four modes: armor, strength, speed and cloak. As far as multiplayer is concerned, up to 32 players will be able to play in a single match, consisting of 2 different modes: Instant Action, Power Struggle.

So, remember that September 25th marks the launch of the Crysis demo, but if you're a Halo fan, that day is equally important for you I'm sure, as Halo 3 launches on the 25th of September also. But I don't see why you wouldn't try out the demo of one of the most anticipated FPSes of the year anyway.
