Gamers can get the character everywhere outside of Japan

The development team at EA Sports working on the UFC title that it launched this fall announces that all gamers will be able to get free access to Bruce Lee as a playable fighter starting from now until January 5 of 2015 on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC.

The official announcement explains that gamers will be able to use the character in all its virtual incarnations: Bantamweight Division, Featherweight Division, Lightweight Division, and Welterweight Division.

The free Bruce Lee for EA Sports UFC is not offered in Japan.

The character has a variety of moves that are specifically designed to reflect his personality and to make him a formidable opponent in the Octagon, able to take down the most capable combatants of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The martial arts legend was officially introduced as a bonus for those who were willing to pre-order the new game.

The fact that he is now delivered for free to all those who own the virtual version of Ultimate Fighting Championship is just a sign that pre-ordering is probably not the best idea for most titles and gamers are often better off simply waiting for the extra content to be offered separately.

EA Sports UFC has been receiving new patches and content from the development team and gamers are saying that the title is offering a much better experience than it did when it was first introduced.

EA Sports UFC is also part of the EA Access Vault right now

The free Bruce Lee offer is more enticing for those who own an Xbox One home console and have paid in order to get access to the EA Access service.

At the moment, UFC is part of the Vault, which means that gamers can download and play it for free whenever they want to, with or without the free DLC.

It is not clear whether EA Sports wants to continue to create Ultimate Fighting Championship simulations in the future, and no clear sales numbers for the release were offered.

The studio is making most of its money from Madden NFL and FIFA, with the Ultimate Team mode rapidly becoming a very important revenue stream.

Unfortunately, it’s impossible to create a similar experience for UFC, and that might mean that the title might only become a niche product in the coming years, unless an innovative set of mechanics for it is created in 2015.
