Electronic Arts has announced the availability of 'EA SPORTS Link', an innovative mobile site where sports fans can learn about their favorite EA SPORTS games and read the latest gaming and sports news.

EA SPORTS Link introduces exciting new EA SPORTS games and extends the huge online sports-fan community to mobile phones. The mobile site is now available across the Cingular Wireless network, and will roll out to other North American carriers in the coming months. As more functionality and new features are added, EA SPORTS Link users will soon be able to trade information and challenge one another to live games, fully realizing the potential of this social, mobile-networked, sports-attuned community.

"Sports fans hunger for sports info, stats and news 24/7. With EA SPORTS Link, these fans are always just one button away from their favorite team's scores, updates, news and games. By creating a singular, feature-packed destination for digital sports content, this groundbreaking service is going to change the way people experience sports and mobile sports content," said Michael Marchetti, VP and Chief Operating Officer at EA Mobile. "We believe that the mobile phone is a perfect platform on which to build sports-themed services and provide content for the ever-growing community of EA SPORTS fans."

EA SPORTS Link consists of two major components: Catalog Content and RSS News Feeder. Catalog Content features device-specific EA SPORTS material such as games, ring tones, alert tones and wallpapers. EA SPORTS Link registered users can easily access these items after browsing through the franchise page or the content categories section of the catalog. The catalog will refresh on a regular basis to provide the user with new and updated content. The RSS feeder delivers updates on sports and gaming related news, keeping sports enthusiasts up-to-date with the latest headlines. Users can choose their feed, set updates to refresh hourly, daily, or weekly, or elect to turn off the feed completely.
